What age do I have to be to take part in Play Port activities?

If you’re over 12 years of age, you can take part in all of our Play Port experiences

Wee ones aged 10+ can take part in selected activities including our Skate & Canoe Experience, Scoot & Kayak ExperienceWakeboard & Skate Experience and Wakeboard & Bushcraft.

Wee ones aged 8+ can take part in selected activities including our Skate & Canoe Experience and Scoot & Kayak Experience.

Wee ones aged 6+ can take part in our Skate & Canoe Experience.

The minimum age of use for The Loading Bay is 6. Under 10s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Under 16s visiting The Loading Bay must wear a helmet at all times. These will be provided as part of your Play Port experience. All under 16s must also have a waiver completed by a parent or guardian.

What’s the minimum and maximum group size?

Minimum – 4, Maximum – 15

Do I need experience to take part?

No experience? No problem. All of our sessions are available for beginners and our experienced instructors will be on hand to keep you right.

Do I need my own kit?

We’ll provide all the specialist sporting equipment you need including wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets. 

For watersports activities, make sure you have a swimsuit for under your wetsuit, a towel and sturdy footwear that you don’t mind getting wet. 

For indoor activities including skateboarding, BMXing and scootering we recommend wearing comfortable clothes and trainers.

Do I have to book before I visit or can I just show up?

All Play Port experiences must be booked in advance. Check availability now

Do you have changing facilities?

Changing facilities are normally available at Pinkston Watersports Centre, however, these are currently closed due to coronavirus restrictions.

Can I take part if I have a disability?

If you think you might need additional support during your visit or have a disability that might impact your participation, please contact us before your visit. We’ll chat to you about your individual needs and see how we help you take part in a way that’s right for you. Find out more about Access for All.

Will I be safe taking part in the Play Port activities?

All of the activities at Play Port carry some element of risk and we ask that you only take part if you understand this. You’ll be in the hands of our highly trained instructors and coaches and we will provide all the specialist and safety equipment you need on the day. 

We ask that you are in good health, let us know about any underlying health conditions and for watersports activities, that you can swim.

All of our venues are operating strictly within Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions and are subject to regular, deep cleaning. We ask that you socially distance on site and don’t attend if you have symptoms of coronavirus.

How long are the experiences?

The individual sports sessions last between1 and 2 hours in addition to the time you will need to enjoy your lunch after your dry session. Discover the best experience for you.
